Liguori

The Liguori pasta factory, one of the oldest in Italy, started its activity in 1820. Thanks to Vincenzo Liguori’s passion for the “white art”, the town of Gragnano has become famous in the whole world. Looking into the ancestry of the Liguori family we discover in 1796 Gaetano Liguori obtained the license, from the Council of Gragnano to produce and sell “macaroni” pasta.
The history of Gragnano is represented by a bunch of wheat which is our symbol. The emblem engraved on the door of the Church Corpus Domini and on the San Leone fountain has become the coat of arms of the town. Gragnano is in fact considered a pasta town constantly maintaining the professionalism of the antique pasta makers.
From 1650, in fact, the first food manufactures were made in the Windmill Valley.
